Paper Lantern Road
★★★★★ 4.6
Paper Lantern Road is barely a game and I mean that as a compliment. You guide a young lantern-keeper through a village of spirits, solving small environmental puzzles and listening to stories. There's no fail state, just a mood to sink into.
The touch controls are dead simple — tap to move, drag to look. I played most of it in bed with the sound off and still got completely pulled in by the writing. Every chapter is self-contained, so it fits into whatever pocket of time you have, and none of it needs a connection.
What we liked
- Warm, well-written short chapters
- Impossible to get stuck or lose
- Perfect low-stress bedtime game
