Five puzzle games that don't need a signal
Puzzle games and offline play should go hand in hand, yet so many of them insist on loading ads or syncing scores before you can even start. These are the ones we keep coming back to precisely because they leave you alone.
Top of the list right now is Foldwork Daily, a paper-folding puzzle with a full local puzzle pack. No timer nonsense, no connection required, just you and a stubborn crease you can't figure out.
We also rate anything that gets the undo button right. A good puzzle game encourages you to experiment, and a generous undo turns failure into learning instead of frustration. That single design choice separates the games we replay from the ones we delete.
A tip for finding these yourself: flip your phone into airplane mode before you commit to a puzzle game. If the menus still work and you can start a level, it's a keeper. If it stalls, you've saved yourself the storage.
We'll keep this list updated as we play more. If you've got a favourite offline puzzler we've missed, the contact form is open.
