Cozy simulators for a short commute
Not every game needs to be an epic. Sometimes you want fifteen minutes of tidying a virtual shop or arranging a shelf, and then you want to close the app and get off the tram.
Nook & Cranny is our current comfort pick. Running a tiny corner store sounds dull on paper, but the drag-and-drop stocking is oddly soothing and the in-game days are short by design. It respects the fact that you might have to stop at any moment.
What makes these games work on a commute is local saving. You should be able to close them mid-task and pick up exactly where you left off, connection or not. A cozy sim that punishes you for stepping away misses the whole point.
My advice: keep one calm game and one demanding game installed. Some mornings you want a challenge; other mornings you just want to fold towels in a pretend shop while the world wakes up.
These little games rarely get the attention louder titles do, but they're often the ones that stay on my phone the longest.
